Marc Solomon to Manage Northern California Office

(SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 12, 2014) – Hazen and Sawyer announced today the appointment of Marc Solomon, P.E., as Vice President and manager of its northern California office.

Solomon brings 30 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, and business development to the role, having led hundreds of drinking water, wastewater, and water reuse projects. He has worked throughout the western United States and internationally with agencies and cities to facilitate engineering and environmental solutions for water infrastructure challenges.

“Marc is a proven leader who has consistently impressed clients with the results his teams provide,” said Charlie Hocking, Hazen and Sawyer President and CEO. “I can’t imagine a better fit to lead our expansion in northern California.”

“The current state of California’s water resources and infrastructure presents unique and pressing challenges to service providers needing to improve their systems while minimizing rate increases,” said Solomon. “Hazen and Sawyer’s culture of innovation and creative problem solving is a great fit for this market.”

Solomon received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Duke University and a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University. He is also a licensed treatment plant operator, a board certified environmental engineer, and a Diplomat-Water Resources Engineer.

Since our founding in 1951, Hazen and Sawyer has focused on two things: providing safe drinking water and controlling water pollution. Our range of services encompasses the planning, design, and construction management of water and wastewater-related projects – from clean water treatment, storage, and distribution to wastewater and stormwater collection, treatment, and reuse.
