Alan Karnovitz Named Senior Associate
(FAIRFAX, VA – October 20, 2014) - Hazen and Sawyer announced today the appointment of Alan Karnovitz as Senior Associate. In this position, he will provide the firm’s clients with financial and affordability analyses of their projects and programs.
Mr. Karnovitz has more than 30 years’ work experience in consulting and government. He joins Hazen and Sawyer after serving as the Director of Technical Services Center at the Louis Berger Group, where he managed a group of development economists, environmental specialists, and engineers. He has directed and/or supported international and domestic projects for a broad spectrum of clients including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Interior, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the World Bank, DC Water, and private equity investment firms.
Mr. Karnovitz has performed economic, financial, and environmental assessments for infrastructure projects in the water, sanitation, transportation, and energy sectors in 20 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. He has also led numerous feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses and has extensive experience in regional input-output modeling.
Mr. Karnovitz will be based in Hazen and Sawyer’s Fairfax (VA) office. He holds a MPP Degree in Public Policy from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S Degree in Biology of Natural Resource Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
