Silvana Ghiu Appointed AWWA Membrane Processes and Research Committee Chair
(SAN DIEGO, CA - July 12, 2023) - Silvana Ghiu PhD, PE was recently appointed as chair of the AWWA Membrane Processes and Research Committee for a three-year term that began June 15th, 2023.
The Membrane Processes and Research Committee brings together legislators, utilities, consultants, academics, and manufacturers to disseminate the membranes industry trends and best practices through AWWA publications, webinars, workshops, and eLearning.
Silvana was one of the authors of the first edition of AWWA’s Membrane Applications for Water Reuse manual and was also previously chosen as one of the Society of Women Engineers' (SWE) "Women Engineers You Should Know."

Silvana was nominated for this position by the previous chair and approved by the trustees of the Water Quality and Technology Division and the Water Science and Research Division of AWWA. Before becoming chair, she served as vice-chair of the Membrane Processes and Research Committee for the past three years.
