Cane Run Pump Station (Georgetown/Scott County South Sewer Extension Project)
Cane Run Pump Station is part of the Georgetown/Scott County South Sewer Extension project, designed to provide sanitary sewer service to 10 properties, eliminate three existing pump stations, and eliminate two privately-owned package wastewater treatment plants.
Background
The proposed South Sewer Extension project involves expansion of the sanitary sewer collection system from the existing Georgetown Municipal Water and Sewer Service area along US-25 to KY-1963. The project will provide sanitary sewer service to approximately 10 properties on which several currently discharge to two privately-owned package wastewater treatment plants.
The new 6.4 million gallon per day (mgd) sanitary Cane Run Pump Station is a submersible, fourplex, divided wet well pump station, with an above-ground building that includes an electrical room, storage room, and 750 kW standby generator. Per the owners request, the valve vault has a stairwell incorporated into the station’s non-confined space entry.
